Cumming is a small community located in northwestern Warren County. It is a fantastic place to raise a family or to enjoy retirement years. Part of the Des Moines/West Des Moines metro with direct connections to Interstate 35 and Veteran’s Parkway, it is nestled in a great location between rural agriculture and city life. Cumming is proud of its heritage as an agricultural community and has introduced the Middlebrook Agrihood as a continuation of that important history. Our developing business districts and neighborhoods not only respect our history but introduce new ways to live, work and enjoy recreation through food production, crop production, planning for water quality and many fun events. Wilson’s Orchard and Middlebrook Farm are active working farms in the heart of the new development, and Cumming is proud to help host the annual Warren County Corn Grower’s Tractor Ride each year. The Great Western Trail runs through town, and City Council is actively implementing and planning projects to promote connectivity for pedestrians and bicycles to travel from neighborhoods to the trail system.
